Miami wild child and international socialite Florita has been causing havoc on Collingwood Street for a while now, and made a bit of a name for herself. We know that you’re all suckers for her forthright attitude on how a proper night out should be.

Come in from the cold and hey presto you might as well be in Miami. With a VIP suite graced by the likes of Gaga, the sexiest dance floor, a huge outdoor garden complete with cocktails, cold beers and sun-drenched beats.

Senior Manager

What's been your favourite project you've worked on at Apartment Group?

When I was based in-venue, I spent a lot of time designing staff rotas, stock management and arranging training for new staff but I really enjoyed being part of the development of the venue over the year’s at Florita’s.

Having trained most of the staff it’s great to see the family grow and that our incredibly high standards are always being maintained and even exceeded as time goes on.

What do you love most about your job?

Having such a social job is amazing; both my colleagues and the clientele keep every day interesting and the calibre of the whole team keeps us all working at our best, day in day out.

My eventual aim is to be a General Manager and run my own venue and I know that with the Apartment Group this is a real possibility.

What makes Apartment Group different?

The opportunity to diversify and get involved with any aspect of the business you want is refreshing and not something you’d find anywhere else. I spent 4 months based in Newton-by-the-Sea, running the weddings and bar operations, which was a stressful learning experience but really taught me a lot I’d have never known as a Supervisor in a nightclub.

While I was working in the Accounts Department in Head Office, I really began to learn more about wider business operations. I became involved in gross profit margin calculations, budget management, purchase orders; all of which I was able to learn on the job and it’s really improved my management skills as a result!

Senior Manager

What's been your favourite project you've worked on at Apartment Group?

From starting with the Apartment Group, you are encouraged and trained to be a force for change and improvement. To pick just one project I have been allowed input in is difficult, but to be heavily involved with training the Florita’s bar team was an absolute pleasure.

To watch a group of fantastic supervisors, bartenders and bar support become phenomenal, not just in their roles but to become stronger as a team, and to grow as I did along side them was a proud moment for me, to learn with them as I pushed them forward to be all that they could be.

What do you love most about your job?

The diversity of the role is one of the elements of my job I love the most. In an average week to open as a cocktail bar, followed by some of the busiest student nights in the city, topped off with incredibly busy weekends with live entertainment, means it’s never boring. There is always something to keep you on your toes and you’re always learning something new.

What makes Apartment Group different?

To be in such an integral and responsible role at such a young age is an amazing opportunity. Experience and age are second to the Apartment group, Passion and ambition are what’s important and they will give you everything else you need. No obstacles have been put in my way and Ive been encouraged to push on further and further into a role I love.

Sales & Events Manager

What's been your favourite project you've worked on at Apartment Group?
Being involved in the bar champion training programme has helped me develop my own skills whilst training new staff and being involved with organising the development training sessions. It has also given me an insight in how a venue like AYLI operates back of house as well as what guests see.
What do you love most about your job?

I love that no day is the same, cocktails early doors in Floritas to extremely busy student nights and even busier weekends is why I came into this industry as its exciting and keeps you on your toes.

What makes Apartment Group different?
The training you receive when you first arrive on the bar is like nothing I’ve ever experienced. It is the most in depth training I’ve ever had for a bar job. It really shows with the quality of all of the staff and you can clearly see everyone is passionate about working together.

Senior Duty Manager

What's been your favourite project you've worked on at Apartment Group?

Arriving at the CWS venues at the start of October meant it was straight into the planning of big events such as Halloween & NYE, this was great as I got to experience how creative the whole team was not just management but all levels of team members.

What do you love most about your job?
The team, Everyone at As You Like It is on top of their game, coming in with positive attitudes and relaying that onto the customers, making them feel like their experience is much more enjoyable. The team is strong and everyone is clued up on what they are doing within the venue.
What makes Apartment Group different?

The Apartment Group pride themselves on high standards and exceeding expectations. The sky really is your limit if you work hard as most managers within the company will tell you as many have come through the ranks over time.
